Wood Factory in Sorrento

We will be going on the Millennium's tour of Sorrento and the Amalfi Drive. I know about the coral factory. Are we also subjected to an inlaid wood factory in Sorrento? Is it right in Sorrento so that we could skip it, wander off and meet up with the tour? We hate these shopping "opportunities" although I probably wouldn't object to going through the local Limoncello factory.

The real factory is Miss Belleveder on the way to Sorrento from Naples. It would be on left hand side of road. They have a wood working shop in front and an area where items are sold. Does not look like much from outside but excellent items inside.

There is also a very nice store in Sorrento just off the main square.

The factory/store is off by itself so there is no way to get off on your own.

Unless you are really into inlaid wood, it's a horrible waste of time. There is nowhere for you to go while the rest of the people are there as it's a small building off the road by itself. Ugh, the whole time we were there I thought of how much time we were wasting that could have been spent seeing a country I had never been to before.

Fortunately, we were on a private tour, so after just a few minutes we told the driver we were ready to go, and we did.

We stayed in Sorrento in April. There were several stores selling inlaid wood products. Many of the designs seemed very similar. We bought a small wall plaque from A. Stinga on Pzza. F. S. Garguilo. Likewise, there were several shops selling limoncello that they made right there. It tasted bitter and unpleasant to us, but others may love it. Sorrento is a wonderful city to just stroll around. Don't miss it.

I agree with you, bobthek! I loved Sorrento. :D I spent an extra 4 days there a few years ago. Walked into town every evening from my hilltop hotel for dinner and entertainment. I purchased several of the inlaid wood pieces. I really like them. Not sure though if I would enjoy spending an afternoon in one of the factories! The cameo factory was enough for me!
