Clearing Immigration, Customs and Biosecurity in Auckland

Has anyone any experience of how long it takes from disembarking to collect luggage and pass through all these procedures at Auckland? Is any of it e.g. Customs & Immigration done while still on board or is it all done in Shed 10?

I need to know to arrange a pickup. We have been told everyone should be off the ship by 10.00. And is there a separate line at Immigration for NZ passport holders like there is at Auckland airport?

Thanks

If you are sailing into Auckland from an Australian NZ Cruise Customs and Immigration will be done on board the ship, usually whilst crossing the Tasman Sea when there are two sea days.

Once in Auckland disembarkation is very quick. Mind you being in a wheelchair we have been off first (literally) both times. Off at 7am and home having a coffee within the hour (we are 20 mins from the port).

Otherwise I would think the whole process would be half an at max. They have you go through Agriculture at the port to ensure you do not bring food or plant matter ashore. They will have the sniffer dogs out!
