Viking Primadonna

We just returned from a cruise on the Viking Primadonna from Budapest to Bucharest on the Danube. This was our 5th Viking River Cruise. The other four to China, Russia, and France were outstanding. This cruise is at best average. The food on ship was so-so. Some of the wait staff were very good, but there were a couple of surly waiters, who acted as if any request was a bother to them. Except for the area of the Iron Gate, the scenery along the lower Danube is mainly flat land and trees. Based on our past experience on Viking, this cruise was a dissapointment. Bucharest was a pleasant surprise. It is a beautiful city, with wide boulevards, park lands and impressive buildings.

We will sail from Budapesht to Passau. Did anyboy have an experience with cruise like that? Worried about the cold weather in November in Europe.

We sailed from Bucharest to Passau last year (last week in Sep./first week in Oct.) and the weather was gorgeous - not hot and not too cool. Not sure how November would be but I would think you would still have moderate weather. We loved our Viking Danube cruise through Eastern Europe.
