sweetdardar Posted December 7, 2006 #2 Share Posted December 7, 2006 Entertainment Bus company goes from Boston the the NYC port. I am trying to find one that also goes to NYC but travels through PA, no such luck so far.
Nuncie Posted December 8, 2006 #3 Share Posted December 8, 2006 Buses also leave from Providence, RI to NYC port. I have taken it in the past when NCL was in charge and it was very convient and at the time there was no charge for parking. From what I understand now that there is a charge but the lot is secure. Tomcruiser48 Posted December 10, 2006 #4 Share Posted December 10, 2006 Entertainment Tours - 800-310-9900 or 781-849-0200 The nice lady on the phone there was very helpful, the kind of place you can call and ask Questions. We took bus from south station to Dawn last Jan. Picked us up 7:00 am, at port by 12:30 Returning had to wait till 1:00 for bus, got back in Boston 6 PM or so. Bus was overall nice trip, onetime, not crowded, was $50 round trip last year. I had called and paid for bus trip on phone with C/Card, no tickets needed Driver had a list of who to pick up. Yes i would do it again, only downside was waiting for bus in NY, but it did get there onetime. Going on Dawn 3rd time soon, Driving this time due to large group. Have a great trip. NHBob Posted December 10, 2006 #5 Share Posted December 10, 2006 Never heard of Entertainment tours, but there is hourly express bus sevice from the South Station Bus Terminal to Port Authority Terminal on 41st Street in Manhattan. Assuming the Dawn sails out of the Passenger Ship Terminal on the west side, it is a very short taxi ride.Check the Greyhound website for further information on bus schedule, fares, etc.Another alternative, which I haven't tried, is the AMTRAK high speed train from South Station to Penn Station. Check their website for more information. Only a slightly longer cab ride from Penn Station to the pier.
Buford T Justiice Posted December 12, 2006 #6 Share Posted December 12, 2006 We used Entertainment tours last January (2006) and echo the above comments. We're using them again this January (2007). Two additional points I'd make is that (1) if you choose to take the bus, don't be in a rush to get off the ship, and (2) the price for January 2007 is $75 per person.
