Taxi service in Galveston

Has anyone taken a taxi from Days Inn or La Quinta to the port and if so, how much did it cost? Days Inn"s shuttle is $30 per room up to 4 people so it would cost $60

Do they have taxi vans that carry 6 people?

Do you need to reserve them ahead of time, or can you call them that morning?

When we cruised the Magic 3 years back we took a taxi from the San Luis resort there in Galveston to the port. I have 6 in my family (me, hubby and 4 kids). We had the front desk call us a cab. It was a van the sat 6. It was like 15-20$ ride. We were on the seawall side.
