Msc divina casino

My next cruise is on October 8th on the MSC Divina. This will be my first time on the Divina or any MSC ship.

What I'm interested in is the playing conditions at the craps table. For Example:

1- I'm assuming the table is 12 feet long.

2- Bounce condition - very bouncy, bouncy, neutral or dead. (very bouncy

means dice are bouncing off the table on a regular basis)

3- Table minimums and amount of odds allowed?

4- Any heat for long hands?

5- Open in afternoon on at sea days?

6- What time does it open in the evening?

7- How crowded is the table and when can I play with low number of players?

8- Is the crew friendly and talkative? Do they address you by name?

9- Any issues with worn dice with rounded corners?

Thank you,

HHHHHEEEEELLLLLLLLLLOOOOO Dicenator: MSC is a European line. It is Italian owned. Craps is not a game that is particularly popular outside of the U.S. MSC may not have craps tables in the casinos.

Casino Player,

I found you tube videos showing a craps table on board the Divina. On their website they also say that they have craps on this ship. The table is 12 feet long the same as every other ship I've been on.

After my experiences with worn dice on Carnival and Princess ships, this would be my biggest concern. I will never sail on Carnival or Princess past the second week of the month. From the middle of the month on you will be playing with dice that have been in play up to five different days.

HHHHHEEEEELLLLLLLLLLOOOOO Dicenator: Well, then you should be used to the table since it is the same size as on other ships. This trip is early in the month so you should not have problems with the dice. My next trip starts early in the month too. I'm not counting on problems with dice.

On my last trip, which was late in the month, did not do horribly bad at the craps table. In fact, had the longest roll of anyone on the table. Some of the dice were a little rounded at the edges, but, did not affect me as much as one might have thought.

Casino Player,

You were 100% right to raise the question concerning a craps table on the Divina. I got in touch with customer service at MSC and they confirmed that this ship does not have a craps table. It is too late for me to cancel at this point. We've already made our final payment. This must be the only cruise ship sailing from the USA that doesn't have a craps table. We only paid $1300 for an upgraded balcony on this cruise so I'm going to try to stay positive. The table limits are $5 so I'll probably do some blackjack and slots and go to more shows that I usually go to. I am intending to have some serious discussions with the casino manager on board.

I am very disappointed in this message board. I posted this thread back in July. You would think that of the 500 + reads someone would have been in the casino on this ship and could have told me that there is no craps table. If I had found out before my final payment was due I would have cancelled.

Thanks for your warning. I should have acted much sooner in trying to verify this.

HHHHHEEEEELLLLLLLLLLOOOOO Dicenator: Do realize that craps is only popular in the U.S. Many foreign ships don't have craps tables, even if they come to the U.S. I remember when we went on Holland America and they took the craps table out from the smaller ships. Fortunately, it was to Bermuda. Pre-license to run the casino on board the ship.

Have fun and enjoy your trip all the same. One day, I'm sure, we will be on a cruise together.

HHHHHEEEEELLLLLLLLLLOOOOO Dicenator: Your trip is coming up soon. One week from today. Try to have a good trip, it will be difficult since they don't have your favorite game in the Casino. However, it is what it is. Have a good time. When there was no craps table on the Veendam I played Three-Card-Poker.

UPDATE ON MY MSC DIVINA CRUISE - SCHEDULED TO DEPART TOMORROW

Back in September after finding out that the Divina had removed their craps table, I was very upset and would have cancelled the cruise except that it was too late, our final payment had already been made.

In 2013 the chairman of MSC was on this message board in an open forum for a week. I asked him if there would be a craps table on the ship and he responded with a "YES". So I tried to find a way to get in touch with him via email. After searching for a few hours I failed but I did find the name of the CEO of MSC cruises USA. His name is Mr. Sasso.

I sent Mr. Sasso an email telling him how disappointed I was that there was no craps table on the ship and that I wouldn't have booked the cruise if I knew that. He responded the next day and told me he would look into it. The day after he sent me an email telling me that there was nothing he could do. They had removed it because on half the cruises there was little or no craps play. He also offered us a full refund it that was what we wanted. We talked it over and decided that we would go anyway, we had such a good price for a balcony, extended deck on the back of the ship that is was worth keeping. He also gave us a free VIP package.

Now it's cruise week coming up and hurricane Matthew is approaching. Being experienced travelers we knew early October is at the peak of hurricane season so we had our flights from New Jersey scheduled for Wed., Oct 5th. We could also drive if worse came to worse. We were going to spend a few days in Fort Lauderdale prior to the cruise. Little did we know that the hurricane would not only screw up our flight but coming up the coast it would make driving almost impossible also. On Tuesday Oct. 4th we decided to cancel the trip not knowing if we would be able to get rescheduled or lose all the money we had already paid.

First was cancelling the hotel stay for 3 nights which was no problem.

Second was the airline. At this time our flight had not yet been cancelled but we managed to get the fair we paid put into the airline bank to be used at some time in the future. OK no loss of money there.

Third, the cruise itself. We emailed Mr. Sasso trying to get the cruise cancelled per his offer from a month ago. NO GOOD but he was kind enough to give us a credit to be used anytime within the next year.

So we ended up not losing a dime and will recover the Divina cruise sometime next year. We are probable looking at May for our wedding anniversary.

So now I have 7 or 8 months to come up with a plan to convince them to put the craps table back in the casino.

My final thought is that we turned lemons into lemonade. Oh happy days.

HHHHHEEEEELLLLLLLLLLOOOOO Dicenator: Glad that everything worked out pretty good for you. To have your cruise at the time of your anniversary is very good. We, my wife and I, have sailed many times covering our anniversary. Also, at other times we have covered a birthday.

Don't know if they will put back the craps table after they took it out. Holland America has about nine ships they took out the craps table from the casino.
