Tromso - 7 am to 2 pm

We will be in Tromso from 7 am to 2 pm in late June 2014.

I understand we will be docked at Breivika and would need to see if Princess run a shuttle service into town or get the local bus (number 42 i understand).

My wish list would be to hopefully go up the cable car or visit Polaris (maybe depending on weather) and do a self guided tour of the downtown area.

Would also try and fit in the Polar Museum but think time is not on my side.

Problem is - from what i can find nothing opens before 10 am. Is this also true in the summer months?

Does anyone have any links to self guided walking tours to take in an overview of the downtown area?

How long would you give youself for

Polaris

Polar Museum

Any chance i have enough time to fit in two of them?

I used the lonely planet book, it was good and provided good info on what to do.

We boat was suppose to have more time but we arrived 2 hours late; fog stopped/slowed us down.

Not really thrilled with downtown, do look at Burger King for the prices.

With your time I don't think you can do the cable car, by the time you get up/down and over to it most of your time is spend.

You could do get downtown and walk up the main bridge, there are some great views from up there. Then get to one of the museums at the time they open. I spend more in the polar museum but the polaris has the live animals.
