Excursions?

We've booked through the ship on our Star Clipper sailings. But don't dally, because some of the excursions fill up quickly. The smart move is to go to "the library" and check for the excursion signup book/s soon after you board, or at least, that same day.

Does this mean you cannot book in advance as with other cruise lines? I'm a solo traveller looking at Asia so keen to do ship excursions. How many roughly do they offer for each port and do the prices compare to other cruise lines?

Thanks
