Rcl-tours from falmouth-rent a cab-is it safe

Does anyone have any ideas on what is a fun day or tour if we don't want to go to Dunn Rivers-My husband wants to walk off and just grab a cab and ride around-Have to admit- I'm a little nervous about this in Jamaca-Any other recommendations-we are in our 50's- he is not overly fond of hanging around a beach ,either. thanks
