There is a great visitor center with helpful park rangers and printed maps.

This is a great place to start if you're going on your own. Ask about the Big Tree trail that leads to La Mina falls. It might be a 45 minute walk from your car to the falls but it's the less strenuous way to get there. You might find a lot of people at the falls but it you keep on the trail a bit further up after the falls you will find various places where you can enjoy the river in a more private setting. A bit further up the road from the Big Tree trail entrance is another visitors center a the entrance to other trails as well as gazebos where you can picnic for a while as well.

If you are limited on time i would skip the visitors center, unless you need a bathroom stop.

Definitely do La MIna and their is one more that takes you to a pool and another small fall but do not remember what it is called. I am sure the rangers will tell you if you ask.
