MSC Preziosa Great time - great value! by PoppyH

I cruised with my 80 year old mother - so mixed generations. The ship is stunning -possibly slightly large for us but still possible to escape the crowds. We did not really use the sundeck and pool area as it was pretty crowded and noisy throughout the cruise as the ship seemed to be full. Did swim in the "indoor" pool which was quieter and lovely. Cabins are spacious and very well appointed - plenty of storage and the showers are super. Balconies have chairs and table - great for sunning and generally relaxing. The cruise experience is very European - most of the passengers were from southern europe - Spain and Italy and they do tend to be exuberant and noisier than we are used to as well has having low tolerance for queuing - they just don't! Viking Emerald Highlights of China by davemiller

As with most of our fellow passengers, this was our first visit to China. The trip comprised three land centres punctuated by a five day cruise on the Yangtze. The selected hotels in Shanghai, Xian and Beijing were all of a very high quality. Our trip started in Shanghai and ended in Beijing. This to us seemed the best option as it offered the only opportunity to see the pandas. Most of those we spoke to agreed that, with the benefit of hindsight, this was indeed the preferred option as, leaving the Terracotta Army, Forbidden City and Great Wall until the end of the trip diminished any possible feeling of anti-climax. Having only had the joint experiences of 4 cruises under our belts now - A Cunard , a Fred Olson and a Nile River Cruise we wanted a cruise from Southampton in early Sept. Oriana ticked the box. Whilst I do read reviews I appreciate that one mans’ meat is another mans’ poison ! and you cannot please everyone all the time ! However we met a lot of people who were P &O fans - had cruised on different ships but returned to this one time and again which in itself speaks volumes Continue reading...
