Ash Wednesday/Carnival

We will be in Martinique on Ash Wednesday, at the end of Carnival in March. Will there be any businesses open? Any local excursions?

Just got a packet from Martinique Travel Bureau in NYC. I asked about Ash Wednesday...really didn't get specific information other than the last four days of Carnival, the shops are closed. Ash Wednesday there will be a parade(s) but no mention of time it starts. Personally, we are still looking for a beach, excursion for morning, or resort for day fee.
