Holiday Inn Miami beach or Courtyard Marriott Miami beach?

Hi! I am trying to decide on a hotel for 2 nights pre cruise near POM February 27&28th. We are flying in to MCO. Family of 4, 2 adults kids 9 & 14. Been to Florida many times but first time in miami. We thought something on the beach would fun. Had 2 suggestions of Holiday Inn Miami Beach or Courtyard Miami Beach, price range for these hotels are what we are looking for. Post cruise I already booked Intercontinental for 1 night with points we had, not worried about it not being on the beach, only 1 night and we want to try something different to compare. Any suggestions for beach hotels or comments on these 2 hotels would be greatly appreciated, thanks. Slightly concerned about on going construction at courtyard miami beach however I'm thinking it should be done by February 2014?!
