time before late flight

Our flight out of NO doesn't leave until 5:45. The hotel said they would hold our luggage (Hampton Inn-Convention center). DH wants to see the WWII museum and I want to see Pirates Alley. Is this doable before we leave for the airport? We want to make the most of our time.
