ecib1 Posted March 23, 2005 #1 Share Posted March 23, 2005 We are on the May 23 Galaxy cruise. In the 2004 Fodor guide he states that a five digit pin# is necessary to use an ATM in Italy. The last time we were in Italy, in 2002, a four digit pin # was sufficient. Does anyone know if a five digit pin# is required?
caryh Posted March 23, 2005 #2 Share Posted March 23, 2005 We were in Italy in 5/04 and a 4 digit pin worked.
cruisingmimi Posted March 23, 2005 #3 Share Posted March 23, 2005 We were in Ireland in Oct. & used a 4 pin successfully. I thought I had read somewhere that 4 pin was better in Europe. Perhaps your bank can advise you.

trubey Posted March 25, 2005 #6 Share Posted March 25, 2005 I live in Portugal where we use a four digit PIN. I have not heard of any upcoming change. But, Good Question. It sure would be a nuisance to discover this on your cruise. susan.
