New airport security

FWIW- I went through O Hare and JFK security today on my way to the Rome. Security lines were short, and spent less than 10 minutes in either line. Did not need to be at the airport 2-3 hours early.

Your mileage may vary...

We are carrying larger than normal, for me anyway, carry on bags jammed with electronics, books, etc since we are gone for a while, and no extra screening was evident.

thanks for the info. it is good to know the lines are not as bad as we thought in some of the major airports. i am 100% for the extra security and the new packing will not deter me from getting on the planes. actually i am looking forward to not lugging so much stuff in my carry-on that i thought i needed too before. things can always be replaced if lost.
