Canada/New England Cruise

We are cruising on the Crown Princess Oct 14/11 Canada/New England,with a stop in New York(1st time).Is there a shore excursion,independant or otherwise that would include some some New York shopping time? Or is there "some shopping" at or near the Cruise Ship facility?

When we had one day in NYC (2009 off the Eurodam), we took an 8hr bus tour through HAL. I thought it was great value to see many major sights (WTC Site, Brooklyn Bridge, Top of the Rock Obsetvation deck, etc). It was $89 each and we zig zagged all over Manhattan. Stops included Rockefeller center (with admission to the top), south center seaport for lunch (lunch not included) and the WTC memorial. If you are looking for a great way to see as much of NYC as you can in a short time see if they offer anything like that. The only shopping time was our 1hr lunch stop at the seaport, many shops but mostly souvenir type stuff.

The HOHO is also a great way to see Manhattan and you can get off when you see a good shopping area (like Times Square).

The green route is the downtown route.

You will be docked in Brooklyn. No shopping there at the pier.
