Jacksonville residents - hotel advice, please

I am looking at park and cruise packages in Jacksonville for the night before our December 23rd cruise. Wingate by Wyndham ($99) and The Aloft ($101) are both contenders. Is one more desirable than the other? Which has the better location? Where would my parked car with out-of-state license plates be safer? Which is closer to restaurants? I have never been to Jacksonville, so any help you can provide would be appreciated. Thanks!

The Jacksonville Plaza was recommended to us and that is where we are booked the night before our upcoming cruise. They have a cruise package that includes free parking and free shuttle service to and from the port. We haven't stayed there yet, but the reviews that we have read were all very good.

All three of these hotels are all near each other. There is the River City Marketplace that has lots of restaurants and shops. The Jacksonville Plaza and the Wingate is on one side of I95 and the Aloft and the River City Marketplace is on the other side of it.
