Boofey123 Posted August 29, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 29, 2014 Hi, we have been to Fiji before with P&O and we stopped at Vila which had the cheapest duty free alcohol!! We are sailing with Celebrity this time in October and we are only stopping at Suva, Lautoka, Noumea, Isle of Pines and Mystery Island. So out of Suva, Lautoka and Noumea (which we did stop at last time but did no shopping on a Sunday) which stop has the cheapest duty free alcohol and where?? MrClever Posted August 29, 2014 #2 Share Posted August 29, 2014 Port Vila is in Vanuatu, but of the ports you're visiting next, my suggestion is Suva. Be ready to pay a little more than Vila, but not a lot more. There are a few good duty free places not far from the pier, but it's been about 3 years since my last trip to Suva so I have no idea if the places I saw are even still there :). Have fun on your cruise and happy shopping! Sent from my iPhone so excuse unfortunate iCorrects
Boofey123 Posted October 27, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted October 27, 2014 Thanks for the tip, I had found on other blogs that Suva was a good possibility:)
happysnapper Posted October 27, 2014 #4 Share Posted October 27, 2014 Did South Pacific Islands last year and found Noumea had the cheapest duty free alcohol by far. In the main CBD area there is a good size duty free shop.
MrClever Posted October 27, 2014 #5 Share Posted October 27, 2014 Thanks Happysnapper! Last time we were in Noumea, it was Sunday so nothing was open. I'll have to knock off my duty free there (assuming we're not there on Sunday again!).
