moki'smommy Posted December 5, 2014 #2 Share Posted December 5, 2014 He must have done OK at his post-DCL position. He was head of a line where people basically buy a cabin and live on the ship!
user999 Posted December 10, 2014 #3 Share Posted December 10, 2014 He must have done OK at his post-DCL position. He was head of a line where people basically buy a cabin and live on the ship! I think his cruise line opening experience (with DCL) was equally important to this newcomer.
moki'smommy Posted December 10, 2014 #4 Share Posted December 10, 2014 (edited) He's a nice guy, and I'm not disputing his experience or qualifications. He was CFO of DCL at the beginning, then promoted to CEO. He then left DCL. Edited December 10, 2014 by moki'smommy

I worked in dishwash on Disney Wonder back then, and a small group of DCL high ranking managers used to relieve us for few hours, every year, at the night before Christmas eve if I remember correctly. I could not believe it. He would put an apron, put yellow glows, take a spray-gun and off he goes, along with a buddy of his, who would load dishwashing machine in crew mess. That's the Walt Disney's legacy. I don't know if there is any crewmember here to confirm that, and I imagine it's hard to believe, but it had happened, and I am happy to be alive to talk about it 15 years later. DavyJoneses Posted December 12, 2014 #6 Share Posted December 12, 2014 Also...nice to see another cruise line in the works. Competition helps to keep the pricing down.

Unfortunately the Disney name allows prices for MOST sailings to remain higher than the competition. Still, bargains are out there if a guest can be flexible.
