Private tour vs rental car

Hello all, our family will be in Aruba in November and would like to spend the day exploring the island. We are considering renting a car and just driving around on our own, but also appreciate the value of having a local guide drive us around. Any ideas of the cost for a driver and van(there are five of us) for the day, and if so any recommendations?

Taxi rates/fares in Aruba are set by the government. There is no haggling over price. Private tours are $45 per hour (NOT per person) for a maximum of 5 people per taxi. 5 people per taxi is a limit set by the government.

An advantage of hiring a driver/guide for first time visitors to the island is being able to get some history as well as know what you are seeing when you stop at a site.

Another satisfied Bully customer. He was great. You can't go wrong with him as your guide.

I've done two of the ABC jeep island tours and enjoyed them thoroughly.

If you want to visit some spots on the north side of the island (Natural Pool, Morro (spelling) beach, etc., that requires an off road vehicle.

It really depends on what kind of tour you want to take with car vs. off road (DIY or not).
