Hilo- Volcano National Park by land and air

I will be visiting Hilo in early June via POA so I will be there from 8A-6P. Is there a tour that offers both a helicopter tour of the park and then a land tour? Or do you suggest I book a helicopter tour and then rent a car? I hate to rent a car and loose out on information about the park...I just worry I don't have time for both helicopter and land. What does everyone else recommend?! Thanks SO much in advance!

We had the same dilemma for our cruise next month.

After some research, we have decided on a morning helicopter ride with a 8 30am pick up with Safari helicopters then a 12pm Volcanoes National Park tour with NCL.

The 12pm tour allows us sufficient time to enjoy the helicopter ride and get back to the cruise with some time before our afternoon tour.

There are a couple tour companies that offers morning Volcanoes National Park tours if you are looking at an afternoon helicopter ride.

I am sure others will pitch in if there are land and sea combo tours that you can do.
