Final payment 120 days for 2016?

I just noticed on my confirmation that final payment for our 2016 cruise is Feb 12 for a June 12 cruise.

 

This year our final is Only 90 days...

Both are in the same suite, same ship, different itinerary.

 

When did this happen?

I believe the policy changes took place on the first of the new year.

The payment schedule changed on January 1, along with the cancellation fee schedule (see here for the payment schedule).

Actually, it looks like they have made it easier to cancel the Haven and suites. Used to be the penalties started at 120 days (i.e. before the final payment deadline, which caused confusion and problems for some people), now it's 60 or 75 days like all the other categories (90 days for holidays and Hawaii).

Huh. Thanks for pointing that out- I only looked at the payment date !

Cruise passengers would soon stop cancelling and re-booking if NCL and other American based cruise lines changed the rules and operated the way Europe works. i.e. If you cancel at any time you at least lose your deposit.

As I said, they have made it easier for people booking the highest categories to cancel closer to sailing. They are not doing anything to discourage people from cancelling 2 or 3 months out. Evidently this is not a big problem for them.

I found this out when I changed our promo from the 10% obc (booked in 2014) to the current promo (made the change last week). My final pmt date was moved from June 7th for a Sept cruise to May 7th.
