Elroy Posted July 15, 2007 #1 Share Posted July 15, 2007 I've booked a B4 class cabin on the QM2 Sep 10th departure. At what point do we get assigned the actual cabin? Check in, or is potentially earlier? Thanks!
guernseyguy Posted July 15, 2007 #2 Share Posted July 15, 2007 At what point do we get assigned the actual cabin? Check in, or is potentially earlier? Thanks! Typically about 10 days out - but can be earlier...or as late as check in.....welcome to the club of 'compulsively checking the Voyage Personaliser'! Norfolk Brit Posted July 15, 2007 #3 Share Posted July 15, 2007 Our cabin number appeared on the voyage personaliser about 4 weeks before our cruise.

judy&steve Posted July 16, 2007 #5 Share Posted July 16, 2007 For our November 25th cruise last year on QM2 we got an e-mail from our TA on September 20th telling us that our P3 guarantee was assigned a P1 cabin. steve
Elroy Posted July 16, 2007 Author #6 Share Posted July 16, 2007 Thanks! I'm on a Sep 10th cruise, would be interesting to know our cabin sooner rather than later. It's my first cruise ever, 12 nights on the QM2. Should I bring a tuxedo and dinner jacket? Not really my style, but I've got a tuxedo from my wedding a year ago. You will probably get to wear it at least 3 or 4 times..... Peter
judy&steve Posted July 16, 2007 #8 Share Posted July 16, 2007 Dressing for dinner on the QM2 is like dressing for dinner ten years ago in the USA when you went out to a nice restaurant. A jacket and tie was always required then and you really should wear at least a jacket if not jacket and tie every night on the QM2. Even for casual night I felt uncomfortable not wearing a jacket as the majority on men wore jackets every night. A 12 night cruise may have three formal nights where tuxes are worn by the majority. steve
Norfolk Brit Posted July 16, 2007 #9 Share Posted July 16, 2007 We did a similar Med cruise in May this year; we had four formal, 6 semi-formal and 2 elegant casual nights. BTW I think you'll love it:)
