April-in-NC Posted April 26, 2012 #1 Share Posted April 26, 2012 Our family wants to see the Butterfly Farm and Maho beach along with the "standard" island tour stops although we could do without extended beach time to fit in the Butterfly Farm. I have emailed Joyce Prince and Bernard's... Should I contact anyone else? Can we hire a taxi?

I have emailed Joyce Prince and Bernard's... Should I contact anyone else? Can we hire a taxi? taxistmaarten.com/ is a good website to check. Another option that would be cheaper is to take a taxi to LeGalion and stay there for a while. It is a great beach for children. The Butterfly Farm is a five minute walk from there. You might have some luck with asking your driver to pick you up at a set time but getting a taxi from the Butterfly Farm is not difficult because of it's close proximity to Orient Beach. From there you can go to Maho via Marigot if you would like to see some of the island. You might end up at Maho a little later then you should if your plan is to see one of the bigger jets landing at Maho.taxis are plentiful at Maho or at the nearby Maho resorts and casino. April-in-NC Posted April 27, 2012 Author #3 Share Posted April 27, 2012 Bernard got back to me and said that he would be able to drop us off at the Butterfly Farm for an hour and then take us to join everyone else at Orient for the second hour. Is an hour enough to go through the Butterfly Farm? Has anyone else "customized" tour with Bernard's like this before?

We stayed longer because my husband was photographing the butterflies and the little darlings just wouldn't stay still. Make sure you check the opening times of the Butterfly Farm. You wouldn't want to waste time standing out front waiting for it to open.
