firstcruisebuzz Posted May 9, 2016 #1 Share Posted May 9, 2016 We are arriving in June and are in port 7am-2pm I am looking at the different excursions and was wondering what is the best for us? Would be able to do a quick walking tour of OSJ on our own but was also interested in the Beach Break. The only downside would be time to do both and whether or not this is a good choice for us since neither of us drink. Also, what is something that is not to difficult for a "logistically challenged" mother and daughter can do without getting lost. Thank you for your help! Rare crewsweeper Posted May 9, 2016 #2 Share Posted May 9, 2016 Do a self guided walking tour. There are posts here and via google/duckduckgo/ etc. with maps but basically it's up hill tot he forts and downhill back to the piers with side streets for shopping. So no need for a beach break excursion? The self walking will fill up enough time? (we tend to be quick walkers and sightseers :)
Rare crewsweeper Posted May 10, 2016 #4 Share Posted May 10, 2016 You can explore information on the nearer beaches (taxi ride away), but given your time in port, maybe, maybe not. Both fort grounds can take up at least 30-45 minutes each (maybe longer at El Morro) if you're just ambling through. And it's a brisk 10-15 minute walk between. Nice vista along that section. Check out the posts on restaurants so you can grab a bite to eat going out or coming back.
