booking with US agent for non American

I'm in the UK and have a cruise booked for March 2016 with a US agent. It's showing on the RCI website with my correct address and no problems at all.

I've also contacted RCI Crown and Anchor recently to have my newly acquired Platinun discount applied to my reservation and the US agent emailed them and got this applied without any problem.

That article does state that all cruise lines categoricaly denied that any passengers have been refused boarding.

We've used an American TA for our last three bookings with no problems at all. The reservation is on the RCI web site with everything in order. Our TA is fantastic- wouldn't go anywhere else now.

I would say go for it. 99% of the time there will be no problem.

Now remember, if there is a problem, you fall under the US regulations, not the EU regulations. For example, another volcano erupts in Iceland and your flight is cancelled, causing you to miss your cruise. Kiss the cruise fare good by.

The EU coverage would give you all your money back. The US regs say thanks for the money for the cruise, hotel stays, flights back home, etc, and enjoy your missed vacation and lost money.

Of course, this kind of a problem is rare, but when it happens people scream they got scre***. Not really, you got what you paid for.

Buy insurance to cover the trip and you are pretty even.
