Saving Pics to Fire?

I bought this connector to hook up my Olympus to my Fire (7, 4th Gen.) However, I cannot seem to get it to work (I get to the screen on moving photos using the USB, but then it just sits there). The reviews for this connector did say it could be done.

 

I called Amazon and was told that I need to move the photos from my camera to a laptop and then move them to the Fire.:rolleyes: That is not helpful because the whole point of this is that I did not want to drag my heavy laptop when I am bringing the Fire anyway.

 

Anyone have any experience with this? thx
