hello all, I have been reading these threads and I can't figure this out. what is the difference between west bay and west end? we will be in port from 7-3 and I want to attempt a beach day that also has great snorkeling.

We are comfortable venturing out on our own, I just need to know in advance where I want to go :) I would much rather not sign up for a ship excursion.

any input would be appreciated.

West Bay and West End are both along the same major reef zone. I think West Bay has the nearer snorkeling from shore. But West End's slightly off shore reefs are better snorkeling as they tend to be less crowded. You can hire small boats at either beach area to take you out there.

I suggest you look up Bananarama's site and grab their day pass as it includes transportation to and from either cruise port as well as use of their lockers and outdoor showers. You can walk along the beach to Bite on the Beach for lunch or eat at Bananarama.

But there are several other resorts that have day passes too.
