Yoshikitty Posted September 18, 2013 #1 Share Posted September 18, 2013 Dear Mr. Payne, without a doubt, the Queen Mary 2 is a fascinating atlantic liner and we enjoyed it a lot on our first crossing. On a lecture, you mentioned how you convinced the Carnival CEO to build a "real" ship instead of another cruiseship. With all what happened in the last 10 years, would you think - based on what we know today - that the CEO would approve again such an endeavour again? Stephen M. Payne Posted September 25, 2013 #2 Share Posted September 25, 2013 Dear Yoshikitty, I would argue my case just as strongly a second time! If regular back to back transatlantic crossings are envisaged for most of the year, a true liner is required for transatlantic service. Queen Mary 2 has now crossed the Atlantic more than 200 times, sometimes running through classic Atlantic storms. She has admirably fulfilled her design expectation and I would hope that this would be taken into consideration by whoever ultimately took the decision. Thank you for your question.
