shortstuffy Posted October 24, 2011 #1 Share Posted October 24, 2011 The current "google maps" satellite view of Akaroa Harbour NZ shows a large cruise ship moored and tenders ferrying passengers to shore. But I can't place the ship (even after zooming right in to the closest view) - it's a white-hulled cruise ship with what looks like a swimming pool with retractable covers amidships, and another pool on the rear topdeck. I don't think it's a P&O vessel or even Princess. Definately not HAL. What is the logo on the funnel? Any thoughts?

Aaahh (red faced sigh!). It might be the HAL ship Volendam. The topsides of the Volendam are white and the hull is the traditional HAL deep blue. But in the satellite view the whole hull appears white.
