Summer prices on Caribbean

Has anyone seen any prices on the plain old basic 7 night Caribbean cruise in the summer of 2016? I have seen the exotic prices for the exotic cruises. But what about the same ole same ole week long Caribbean that has so much competition? Dare I hope that those have not skyrocketed?????

You wish....

typical dates, Fantasy 2 adults, 1 child

8/6/16

Cat 11A--$6000+

Cat 9--$6200

cat 5--$6650

These are no transfers of insurance.

All dates that I'm aware of, the starting price before 8/27/16 for a party of 3 is about $6000. Starting 8/27, the cat 11s dropped to about $5000

And yes, you can book 2015 currently cheaper than these opening day rates.

I decided on a cruise. The travel agent is, of course, busy booking tons of customers so I am in line. Do prices change quickly enough that I should just book my own with that "big box, great gas" store? Don't want the prices to go up any more!

If my agent was "too busy" to serve me, I'd go elsewhere in a heartbeat. The cruises I booked yesterday are up by over 1K each today! I watched a cruise I wanted in 2005 go up by $800 while I was on hold on the phone. Get the prices before they increase any more!

OK, I have to say the TA got back pretty quickly to me. Wasn't sure when I got the first email from her. Got me the price she had quoted earlier in the day and a cabin I am happy with on deck 7 fore. I could have gotten an extra $150 credit with the "other" TA, but opted for the specialist. I got the May 1 eastern Carib. 2016 and it was the lowest of that type. So, I guess we are set. Now I just have to read carefully the cancellation policy and get some travel insurance. Will have to wait to try to get the "mileage" airfare ticket as it is more than one year out.

Be sure that you are looking at the new cancelation policy--the one that should be printed on your reservation. If you look on line, some sources still have not replaced the previous policy!

I always use my TA,but they always give me great service. I had my reservations in "hold" status before 9 am yesterday. Then they contacted me later in the afternoon to confirm that they had the correct credit card info to do the deposit. They said ALL their clients had all requested reservations before 10!
