La Romana - Cave of Wonders

I was wondering if anyone knows if we can do this by ourselves. I know that Carnival has a tour that does the caves, but I was thinking I might want to do the caves and cigar factory. Do they have taxis/tour operators at the port that would do this?

We LOVED cave tubing in Belize!! We plan to see the Cave of Wonders, and Altos de Chavón village on our own.

We have 14 of us headed to Dominican Republic in May. I booked a private taxi van and driver for the our whole day in port through Servicios Turísticos Universal. Nice website with online request form and payment via PayPal.

Roundtrip from La Romana port, 14 passengers, 5+ hours, multiple stops = $300 total.

The only downside was my final confirmation email and voucher are in Spanish. ;)

We did the cave tour last week while on the Breeze. It is a walking tour of the caves... no tubing. The caves are beautiful and interesting. The area is about a 30 minute ride out of the city.
