2015 Brides!

Recommended Posts

I have a question. Does everyone have to be there at 9:30 IN the morning or are they just trying to be cautious. I just feel like that is so early for everyone attending the wedding to be there dressed and ready. What will they be doing that whole time waiting?

From everything that I have heard, the waiting isn't bad. The guests are able to eat at the buffet and walk around the ship. I will be there earlier than that to hopefully get on first so I can get dressed and be able to take pictures before the wedding so I'm not sweaty from the reception fun. Hopefully we have enough time to go around the ship taking pictures. Also less people on the ship will make it easier!

I'm starting to get nervous about bringing my dress on board the plane. Does that count as a carry on? I sure hope not because i have another smaller suitcase I need to bring.

Mine counted as my carry on. My husband carried a smaller suitcase with his suit and out other wedding related stuff. We checked the rest of our non wedding related luggage.

As of right now all I will be doing is getting a "just married" car magnet to put on the door. I heard its really good to put something on your door as a identifier since they all look the same!

Since not all of the doors are magnetic be sure to bring some blue poster putty to hang your magnet. That is how we did ours.

Oh thanks! I was under the impression that they were all metal !

Even with that they are often not able to hold the magnet. And the blue poster putty comes off clean so it is Carnival approved. We used command hooks to hang the netting around our door because again they come off clean so Carnival approved. :)

Such a good idea!

Does anyone know, if you buy a bottle from the Carnival website (not in the store while on the ship but before you go) can you bring those drinks you make everywhere on the ship? Nightclub, casino, bars? I just don't want to buy a bottle if you can only bring it certain places.

8 more days until we leave. HOLY COW!

Yes! You are able to bring your cup anywhere you want, clubs, dining room, open container anywhere! That's what I'm doing to try and save a little money. I drink basically the same drink all the time besides the occasional piña colada..

120 days...eeek! Starting to get a bit panicky..... So much to do!

I feel you! We are still at 145 days (until we fly out) and I an starting to feel so overwhelmed with the LITTLE things that still need to be done.

Such a good idea!

I also think you can take the drinks wherever. I have been toying around with the idea of buying a bottle from Carnival, to save money, as well. I'm sure a bottle of JD would last me at the entire cruise.

Our crew are heavy drinkers so I have encouraged them not to purchase the Cheers! package (since they cut you off after 15 drinks), so I have been mentioning this idea to those who drink liquor. Although one of my guests did make a valid point when she said, "Yes, but I'm really looking forward to just laying next to the pool and having someone bring me my drink." LOL I told her that's what her husband is for; he can run back to the room and refresh her drink for her. :)

Stacy, if I don't pop back on here before you leave have a wonderfully fantastic time and enjoy your day!! I'm so happy for you!! :D

It didn't let me quote you! What the heck is going on... lol

Thank you!!! I wasn't going to purchase a bottle for that much and not be able to bring it where I wanted. I just think this is the easiest way to go for me because all I drink is Captain and I don't want to have to worry about tallying up drink after drink on board.

Everything is mostly complete. I cannot believe it.

Packing is becoming interesting as we will be on vacation for 2 weeks so I am sure I've overpacked A LOT!

Here is my experience with the waiting, I waited with my guests and we boarded as a group, even with a toddler in our midst it wasn't that bad. It gave me a chance to talk to may guests, pass out corsages and boutinerres, and go over things with my wedding coordinators. From the time you board until the ceremony, there is not likely to be picture taking time. Our pictures were partly after the ceremony but before the reception for family shots and such. then after the Muster drill we met our photographer and went around the ship taking pictures. Yes I attended the Muster drill in my HUGE wedding gown.

We had rum delivered to our room, we brought tumblers on board with us and we mad our drinks with juice on board. We did get bottomless bubbles to have coke and juice for mixers. We took our drinks everywhere we went. we took a rum runner and kept it full and my husband carried it in the pocket of his cargo shorts.

You have to have your cruise booked then you would call the wedding department at Carnival. TWE is the company that Carnival contracts for much of the wedding day stuff. You also have to pay the wedding in full at the time you book. This does not account for extras you may add throughout the process but the initial fee will need to be paid. You can find the price lists on the Carnival website if you search weddings. Start with deciding if the packages they offer fit your needs. Then if you decide they do, begin your journey!

Hey everyone!

Wooftah I am getting to the home stretch. (Can you believe I started this thread a year ago?! Where has the time gone? Well I get married a week from today and we leave in 3 days so I'm pretty darn excited.

I'm glad to hear everyone's plans are coming along! For me, its just final packing and we leave. Random question:

Did you ladies stay in your dresses or are you planning to all day and night?

I had planned to but by the time we were done with pictures both of us decided to change into comfy clothes for dinner. I was tired of fighting my dress to walk comfortably and he was ready for a break from his bowtie choker lol

Hi everyone,

Reading all these tips is very helpful. As mentioned before, I'm getting married at Nachi Cocom in Cozumel while on a Carnival cruise.

I think we will plan to get the Cheers drink package because we won't have to run to the room to make drinks. I believe Carnival let's you bring 1 bottle of wine per person, so I was thinking of getting alot of people to bring champagne (if allowed) so we can have our own toast at dinner, on the ship that night.

Has anyone brought guest bags? My plan is to bring one for each couple and have Carnival put them in their stateroom while boarding. I read somewhere that they will do this for $1 per bag. Has anyone else heard of that or is planning to do the same? I really want to avoid carrying 40 - something bags along with my dress and own luggage. I was hoping they'd take the bags when we check in our luggage.

I went to Ross and bought a really cute white dress for $25 that I will wear to dinner. I'm not going to want to wear that big gown all day and night. Plus I figure once back on the ship at night, we are going to want to go dancing and hang out so a short little white dress is perfect.
