Taxi's Port Canaveral/Cocoa Beach

Just some advice and understanding. Taxis's at the port get in each day by a lottery system. They hope for a trip to the airport which can cost $100. When you exit the ship and only want to go a few miles to the beach some will turn on the far zone meter and it can cost you $30.00 for the 5 mile trip. (I found out the hard way). It is best to ask up front for the cost to your destination. Ron Jons Surf Shop is a central destination and the cost should be only $10-$15.

Also the cost should be per cab not per person. When you catch a cab back you will not encounter this. Also don't forget to tip the drivers. If you can afford the vacation and the cab, a few bucks for the people that get you there safe is worth it. I take cabs all the time and I have never seen better drivers than we have right here.
