Carnival Brides, what did you bring?

As we're getting married on a Carnival cruise ship next year, we've been wondering what you've brought with you. Chair covers, table clothes, etc? Or are those provided for you? I'd just like to get an idea of what to look into and what to ask about.

My wedding is on Saturday. We are bringing almost nothing in the way of decor. Other than our clothes, accessories and shoes, we are only bringing favors, a guest book, a card box, sugar flowers for the cake, and a sign for our signature drink. We selected the room we wanted for our reception, so I know any other decor I might bring would just get lost.

I didn't bring anything like that! For me the whole point of a cruise wedding was to not have to worry about things like that. We booked the DJ because we wanted our reception in the nightclub. Besides our clothes and accessories for the wedding we brought our guest book with stand and markers, flowers (these were given out to everyone in the lobby of the hotel before boarding the shuttles) and included our flower cake picks, cake topper, mini Polaroids for use during the reception, and our tip envelopes. I wrote an extensive review and you can see how everything looked - it was beautiful and easy!

The only "extras" we brought were our cake topper, lace piece for the cake table, fingerprint tree, and bits for the small candy bar (we had a few small dishes). Other than that, Carnival did all the work--I didn't have time or patience to deal with table clothes or chair covers.

You can bring anything you like, but remember you have to carry it through the terminal and onboard with you in the morning. The problem with things like table clothes and chair covers is that you don't know which venue you will be in until about 2 weeks before the wedding. Some of the venues are in comedy or night clubs and seating is more like sofas rather than chairs. It all depends where you are. I would focus more on the necessities like guest book, card box, OOT bags, flowers (if you are using something other than what is provided), and cake topper if you wish.

Our wedding is April 30th. We are taking guest book, card box, polaroid style camera for our guests to take selfies to put in the guest book - I'd rather have a photo than an autograph ;) ), flowers and OOT bags.

This isn't exactly decor... but i recommend a rolling garmet rack to carry your dress and tux on through the terminal and onboard! Wedding dresses are heavy!

has anyone done the "let us serve you" package on Carnival? I have a long time before my big day and I haven't even been contacted by my wedding planner yet, but I'm trying to be as prepared as possible. Do I pick out the menu and all the guests are stuck with it, or do I tell them what each guest wants? I don't want a boring menu but I also don't want to exclude any picky eaters, plus I have a vegan, a vegetarian, and a pescatarian who may be coming so I'm stressing out about it!

I did this one. You pick the menu and the guests are stuck with it so to speak. My guests loved it. They did provide chicken nugget and fries for my two year old nephew at my request. If you discuss the special needs of guests they will help you out. We chose the boulibase, the vodka penne, the filet mignon and spinach, the fruit tart with kiwi coulee and wine to drink. There was champagne with the cake.

We are doing Let Us Serve You. You have to choose one appetizer, first course, main course and desert that everyone eats. I would talk to them about the special diets. I haven't found any reviews on this package - I even asked Carnival if it was new or something. Not many people choose it because there is no music and dancing I guess. I will post a review after our wedding on April 23rd to help future brides.

You are welcome to read my review. I had the let us serve you package. They did make an exception and provide chicken nuggets for my nephew rather than the chosen menu. Honestly I think if you talk to them they will happily help in dietary concerns. We didn't have anyone with special diets for our wedding so they were all happy with our choices.

Fantastic! Thank you for your review. There were a couple of details on timing and photo schedule that helped a bunch. I love the pic of your son signing the marriage certificate! Our group is a bit larger at over 60 guests. Also, I am bringing decorations for the aisle, a sign in table, place cards for the dining room, escort cards/wedding favors, cake decorations and card box. We also have a flower girl along with a ring bearer. My mom is walking down the isle before the flower girl then my step dad is walking me down. If it were not for the board... I would be totally lost and I know my wedding wouldn't be a wonderful as I think it now will be. We are taking a tour of the ship next week so I will have even a better grasp of the day and layout. Again, thank you for sharing! Wishing you all the best!
