bigbadandugly Posted August 13, 2017 #1 Share Posted August 13, 2017 Unfortunately NOLA got hit again with flooding, and we're scheduled for a 9-day cruise out of NOLA at the end of November. We were looking forward to spending so time before and after the cruise in NOLA as my wife enjoys the place, but are uncertain if the flooding will still have an impact on the city by then. jgmpuma Posted August 13, 2017 #2 Share Posted August 13, 2017 Everything is pretty much back to normal. A lot of heads have rolled, and more to come, because of the pumps that were not operating, and "fake news" given out during the floods that there was no problem. My home is ten feet below sea level, and we depend on the pump system to stay dry. The French Quarter/CBD/cruise terminal area are all ABOVE sea level, and seldom flood. budbo Posted August 21, 2017 #3 Share Posted August 21, 2017 We had reservations to stay at the Marriott Renaissance on Common St next week.....just found out that the hotel is completely shut down due to flooding. It is not in the French Quarter, but just a few blocks away on the other side of Canal St.
