407dm Posted July 4, 2006 #1 Share Posted July 4, 2006 I will be on the Carnival cruise on 10/2/2006 and have been asked by the local fire department if shrimp will still be available in Galveston in October ?? If it is we may want to bring a bunch back for a fundraiser dinner for the fire department. Any suggestions on the local markets or shrimp boats will be helpful. Thanks in advance. GalvestonBear Posted July 4, 2006 #2 Share Posted July 4, 2006 Are you willing to venture away from Galveston? There is a really good shrimp market in Kemah, which is about 30 minutes northeast of the island. Seabrook Seafood 1419 Lawrence Road Kemah, Texas 77565 (281) 334-2546 Contact: Tom Hults Kemah also has a really cool little boardwalk with a hotel that would be relaxing to stay at. Also, if you have a car or any kind of ride, you may consider taking the free ferry (pic below) over to Bolivar Peninsula and Crystal Beach, Texas. J.B.'s Seafood 1263 W.
