chilldowns Posted June 10, 2007 #1 Share Posted June 10, 2007 If you are looking for a place to go to, relax, have some great snorkeling, shore diving, hoobie cat rental, bar, food and more got to Bohio Resorts. We hopped on a Taxi for $7.00 per person (each way). Once we arrived at Bohio,- about a 15- 20 minute drive, we went to the front desk and asked for you use of the beach for the day. For $10 per person we got beach chairs, nice beach and use of facilities. If you want you can sit in the shade either by the bar/food area or in your beach chairs. When we were there (6/7) there were only about 10 people from the cruise ship there. There were less than 40 people there all together. The offered snuba, but were already booked, they also had a snorkel trip that took you to 2 locations, lasted about 75-90 minutes with 2 stops. They took you out to the "wall", you can also swim to part of the wall if you want. Drinks were reasonably priced - beer $4 (Turks Head), frozen drinks were about $7 (nice size) and $2 for soft drinks. You can also rent snorkel gear. The staff was wonderful. Mike, the manager was super friendly and happy to have us visit. We were told the water is almost always calm because of they way they are positioned on the island. There was a nice breeze. It is away from the crowds and a very enjoyable afternoon. Bohio is rated as on of the BEST dive resorts in 2007 by some dive magazine. On our Taxi ride to Bohio, Lewis gave us a history of the island and a tour of the hi-lights. If you are looking for shopping, there is not much of it on the island. They had some small shops setup downtown in small tents (not many). Please contact me if you have any questions about this resort- chilldowns at yahoo dot com. I will post pictures within the next week. http://www.bohioresort.com/

KAWS Posted June 13, 2007 #3 Share Posted June 13, 2007 Did you need to reserve your space ahead or do you just show up at the resort? Is this a large resort?
cottagequilter Posted June 14, 2007 #4 Share Posted June 14, 2007 I think that this is a matter of apples and oranges..the Inn is a private event, not open to the public....I can't speak to the snorkling other than to say that the event organized by the ship, according to our table mates, the wife being a travel agent, was very disappointing and that repeatedly we were told by others that the snorkling was poor as far as signtings were concerned....the Inn is not a party event. Just a wonderful opportunity to experience the real Grand Turk experience at a very special historical place. Any experience with sand and surf can be nothing but good.....
chilldowns Posted June 25, 2007 Author #5 Share Posted June 25, 2007 http://photos.walmart.com/thumbnailshare/AlbumID=11569237/a=10893256/t_=10893256 Did not need to reserve, but if you are interested in scuba you should. This is NOT a ship excusrion. You can swim to the wall or they have a inexpensive snorkel trip. $7 to get there, $20 for snorkel trip. NO CROWDS. No parties like Margaritaville and is cheaper and friendlier.
