so, I have asked this before, but don't know if i just missed the answer or what//

Anyway... i only play blackjack. No slots or other table gmes. I was told by the casino because i only play blackjack, i do not get points. My comps are based on win/loss...

anyone here that is a blackjack only player get points? It makes no sense to me. I have been given offers for pack and play, premier, and others... but now that i have a cruised booked under casino funchips offer, no other offers are coming... can't figure tht out after my last cruise...

^^ Pretty much exactly the question I was coming here to ask, for Carnival.

On our last 7 day cruise my husband started receiving Casino Comps. Cookies, in room, DOU card the 3rd night, but no BB offer. :( He is exclusively a black jack player.

I've found lots of info on what is required for a machine player to receive a BB offer, but next to nothing for a BJ player. Anyone know the magic numbers? We're going on a quickie 4 day in 3 weeks and would love to know what's required for DOU and possibly a BB offer!

Same question here and same basic circumstances: On last cruise, got DOU card second night and cookies, wine, Steak House Restaurant, etc...but, cannot even get anyone at players club to email me, let alone answer any questions. I played some craps as well as BJ, but, no slots.

I corresponded back and forth with Carnival's Casino via e-mail a bit about table player points and am even more confused about table player comps than before. It seems as though it may be based entirely on the pit boss/casino host's discretion unless I received incorrect information.

First I asked how many points I'd earned on our previous cruise and was told 271. I knew that sounded very low so I followed up by asking if that was from slots (which I only played a couple of hours one night) or the tables (which I played the majority of the week). Their response was:

"Just slots. Table players do not receive points. Thanks!"

I then followed up by asking how comps for table players are determined if we aren't earning points and was told:

"Table players are provided comps based on overall level of play."

I was told that before, but last email with them said based on win/loss. and they gave me my number. Like i said, they sent my daughter and myself to the steakhouse, comped bottle of wine, cookies sent to our cabin more than once, gave us both the dou cards... I did get a nice casino offer, which i am booked under. But no bb offer, which would be hard for me to use anyway. However, I used to get pack and play offers, unfortuneatly, i could not use it on the dates that were given. I started to book one solo. I was trying to coordinate with a friend on which date we could do, but by the time i got it figured out, my offer disappeared. I have not received a pack and play offer since. I also have not received any more premier cruise offers. I cannot figure that out for the life of me. My play was much more on my last cruise.

I was told by the person at Players Club that they cannot reveal what each offer is based on. That there are many different criteria that may change at any time. Also told that many offers are automatically generated through their system.

i booked in February, and have not received any more offers since. I think the offers, at least mine, stop coming after one is booked, and until you sail. Last year, i was booked on the Breeze. Later, it was offered at a pack and play rate of 50pp to other cruisers here, but i did not get the offer, and was told it could not be extended to me manually. The offers were automatically generated. I do wish my offers would keep coming.. even after i book one.

So glad I am not the only confused ...

I just got off a 5-day Victory cruise (May 14-19). I only play VP (JoB) and 3/2 BJ.

During this cruise, I scored TWO Royal Flushes ($1k each) playing $1.25 a hand. (Estimated output $71.25) I am still shocked over this.

I also played BJ at least 4-6 hours nightly on port days, and over eight hours on our at-sea day. The Casino Manager was a complete a$$hole to me and other players on the $15+ BJ table. Most of my table mates were on casino-comped cruises and challenged the pit boss (bull) with requests that they had become accustomed to from previous cruises.

This was all new to me since it had been six years since my last cruise. I can tell you that I went home with over $6K BJ/VP cash, but never received a cookie, bottle of wine, or a cruise offer.

On the first night at the BJ table, the CM had an assigned bar waitress for our table -- to get us drunk I assume -- but we were killing the table. We were having a blast, tipping the dealer(s) well, and the pit was cheering us on -- until Pit Bull CM showed up again. As happens everywhere, good BJ players become cruise friends and look for each other on tables. This was one of those rare cruises that when seven of us were playing, we could not lose. We all played exactly the same, but of course, it all came down to the deal.

Bottom line -- Only one $15+ (3/2) table was EVER open during our entire 5 day cruise. I wavered between $15 and $25, but my friend/players were waging $25-$100 a hand. On Day 2 and beyond we could not even get a waitress to our table, let alone free drinks. I had CHEERS so did not care about the free drink, but took breaks a couple of times to leave the game to get a glass of wine. (Leave table = -$) My companions stopped a casino host and asked "why are we not getting free drinks?" Twenty minutes later, a junior pit boss lady apologetically said "free drinks are based not only on the amount you play, but also on how long you play." My friends went almost ballistic and left immediately swearing that this was their last Carnival cruise.

I am undecided because I was never comped on anything before ever, but I could tell from the friends, and the posts here, that we were probably not treated as expected.

my post was not a complaint.. it was simply questions that i had.

Please remember that a cruise casino is not a Vegas casino. Drinks are not automatically comped and not something they have to do, or should be expected to do.

We were treated very nicely on our last cruise by the casino and the hosts.

We had a blast!

While I've never cruised on Carnival, I would not expect any casino to provide significant comps to a $15-25 BJ player, but if you had a significant loss they might offer a percentage of that loss back as a comp.

House edge on BJ (for a reasonably skilled basic strategy) is about 1% (or less). That's about 15 cents per hand on a $15 bet. Times 50 hands an hour, their expected profit is $7.50/hr. Even if you are a bad player and their edge is 2 or 3%, there is not very much they are going to do for you.

In most casino's, you really need to be a $25 bettor before a pit boss will even pay attention, and $50-100 avg. bet before your likely to see any meaningful comps. On cruise ships the requirements are probably even higher.

Just back from the Ecstasy. DH ran a significant amount of cash through and recieved several comps on board (DOU, chocolate strawberries to room, wine, and steakhouse dinner for 2) but no BB.

The strangest thing is another guy we played with played much less than DH, never got a DOU (on 2nd to last night when he asked host, he was told he was 50% to DOU), but he was given a BB. He never received a DOU or any other on board comps. I cannot for the life of me figure out how he got a BB with no DOU, while DH got the DOU early on the second day, but no BB.
