Miami Post-Cruise Hotel

For our last Caribbean cruise with Celebrity back in 2010, they transferred us post-cruise to a day room at the Sheraton Miami as our flight back to London was late evening (our flights, transfers, pre-cruise hotel were all booked via Celebrity).

We have booked the same sort of package for our forthcoming cruise on Silhouette in December, but our TA is uncertain as to whether Celebrity still provides post-cruise rooms/hotels. There is no mention on our paperwork, but there wasn't last time either. Can anyone clarify?

If not, it looks like we may simply be transferred to the airport very, very early, unless we choose an excursion of course.

Thanks in advance for any info.

Hi. We have done quite a few cruises from Miami and there is always a day room if the flight departs after 6pm. The only thing to remember is that the day room at the Sheraton requires you to check out by 4pm so you can sometimes have to hang out in the lobby for a couple of hours as the bus will usually pick you up three hours before your departure time. An alternative that we have done where we book our own flights separately is the Miami airport hotel right inside the airport terminal. You can book a day room online. It's not luxurious but okay for a day room and the restaurant is certainly better than the rubbish fast food outlets in the airport itself.

One thing you must do is check in online on the ship because the queues at the airport check in can take ages. At least the bag drop line is a bit quicker!

Have a great holiday.

Thanks everyone for taking the time to reply.

Our TA has now been in touch with Celebrity and apparently they forgot to book the post cruise hotel! They have now done so however; good job we checked. We are in the Sheraton MIA, where they put us last time.

It's likely we'll have a few hours to spare, so we now need to find out whether it's feasible to have a look around part of Miami and how best to do it. Last time we just stayed in the hotel, which was a bit dull.

We'll post a separate question about this

Thanks again
