We are sailing out of New Orleans in November and I am looking for a place to park. We will ha email two cars so if I can find a hotel that is cheaper than parking at the terminal that would be great. Any suggestions?

We use Machu Picchu. We drive directly there the day prior to cruise, they take us and our overnight bags to our hotel and then they transfer the rest of our luggage from our car to their shuttle and pick us up at the hotel the next morning to go to the port. And of course they pick you up when you return and take you to your car at their parking facility.

I see you're from Pensacola, we live just across the state line, near the Gulf. :) How far is their parking structure from the dock? Can you just park there for the duration of the cruise, if you don't have a hotel anywhere? They are slightly cheaper than parking at the dock.

Small world. We live on the west side about 10 miles from Perdido Key, so probably very close to you! Machu Picchu is about 2 miles from the port. Yes, you can just park there for the cruise without having a hotel. Just drive directly there. On their website there is a form to complete. You will receive a confirmation email from them once it's submitted.

We stayed in a Hampton Inn on St. Charles Ave. when we sailed in October, 2013. There was no charge to park in their lot for the duration of the cruise. I think it was around $7pp to take a cab to the port. It was a nice hotel in a nice area. For our upcoming cruise, we will be there during French Quarter festival, and the hotels anywhere near the city are so expensive. So we are staying near the airport and parking at the Fulton Garage for something like $8 a day (booked online in advance).
