promotion with free cruise

If I'm offered a free cruise, through CAS, for an inside room, and I upgrade to an OV, can I get the free dining plan, or is the promotion only based on the free room offered, which is only $25 obc?

When I called CAS the agent said I would only get the perks associated with the offer and not the upgrade.

Thanks, no point in upgrading. I just figured the cost of the upgrade was only a little more than the dining plan. If I got the dining for free it would be worth it.

Promotions are based on the comp level you start at, not the upgrade you end at.......Good luck!

You must book at least a balcony cabin for the free dining! :(

I know I had to book a balcony for free dining, but only offered a free inside. What I was originally asking was, if I upgraded to a balcony, would I get the promotion. What I have read is, even if I upgrade, the promotion is only based on the free promotion, the inside room, so I still wouldn't qualify for the promotion.

I understand it as you have read it. Promotion is based on comp level, not where you end up after upgrades.
