We are interested in spending our day in Falmouth going to Dr Caves Beach. I have seen that some prebook with Jitial or reggae tours and others just pick up a taxi at the port. Anyone have advice either way? I am concerned about the prepay of the taxi round trip and if they will actually be there to do the return trip back to the ship.

Thanks!!

If you take one of the vans offered in the port they will stay at the beach (or a nearby beach like aquasol) all day until you're ready to return. When we used one earlier this year they also offered to take us to lunch at the pork pit and to drive us to Margaritaville for a few hours.

We were there in April and used Natalie's taxi .if you go go early it gets very crowded in the afternoon ,if you like to snorkel the reef rite off the beach is Beautiful go to the left side of beach and one of the locals will take you out there for 20 bucks

We are doing the Catamaran tour booked through the ship, which is at Cornwall beach. Was wondering if we could just walk to Dr. Cave beach afterwards and take a taxi back to the ship on our own , and if so , how much it would cost for 6 ppl? We will be docked in Falmouth. Also, how far is Margaritaville from the port and I understand there is a beach called Biggs, which is close to Margaritaville . Anyone been there? If so, is there an admission charge, can you rent chairs?

A one way taxi, if you can find one, would probably be $100-$150 for 1-4 people and $25-$35 for each additional person (if they fit), but at that point you are probably better off just booking a private excursion that includes both a catamaran tour and the beach. There is a large Margaritaville in Montego Bay that is walking distance from Doctors Cave beach and has a waterside and inflatable water park, and there is a smaller Margaritaville with just a pool that is literally inside the Falmouth port area. Biggs is a St. Louis-style BBQ restaurant next door to the Montego Bay Margaritaville that has ocean access, but it's really intended for customers of the restaurant.
