PAULNJILL Posted February 6, 2005 #1 Share Posted February 6, 2005 We are doing QM2 New England in the Fall cruise this September / October and are not sure what type of clothing to pack , can anyone give us any idea of likely weather conditions and tempreatures. Is this likely to be like the UK in Autumn, do we pack layers or fear the worst ?
ciaobella Posted February 6, 2005 #2 Share Posted February 6, 2005 What about in July? What's the weather like out in the middle of the Atlantic?
jbailey Posted February 7, 2005 #3 Share Posted February 7, 2005 New England is likely to be crisp and sunny, but it certainly can be cold and rainy. I would dress in layers and bring along a warm coat. If you are lucky, you will have a few days in the low 70s or high 60s but it is very unpredictable. You could even have a few snow flakes. Ditto for the North Atlantic in July. It is unlikely to be warm, but it could be. I have taken crossings in late May/early June and froze to death in the mid-Atlantic, even during the day times. Bring a couple of sweaters and a jacket you can wear over them. Remember that the speed of the ship alone will mean a stiff breeze on deck. However, you can almost always find a place out of the wind and will need only a light jacket during the day.
