MV Discovery - do not pay more for cabin 3012

MV Discovery has a number of premium sized cabins on the lower Coral Deck three for which they charge premium prices. We have now been in two of them: 3106, next to the ship doctor's cabin indeed was a premium sized cabin for the price.

However, on our last cruise we were given cabin number 3102 and in no way should this cabin been priced as a premium sized cabin when compared to the other cabins so priced on the Coral Deck. It only has two very small closets while the other premium cabins have three closets - huge difference and has only 16 inches of totally unusable space between a wall and a cabinet.

Avoid this cabin 3102 if you want a premium priced and larger Coral Deck cabin - the others are worth it. Number 3102 is not!

Keep in mind you will have to keep the port holes closed for most travel in any of the Indian Ocean/Red Sea areas so essentially you are buying an "inside" cabin when located on Deck 3 and Deck 4 on this ship (the port hole cabins). Make your cabin choices and price selections with this in mind if you choose any (fascinating) itineraries where this can happen.

With this one warning, we still love MV Discovery and will happily choose her again, but never will we ever accept cabin 3102 at a "premium" Coral Deck rate.
