Rock_ON!! Posted June 14, 2015 #1 Share Posted June 14, 2015 Is the Margaritaville near the Falmouth port within walking distance? I'm not entirely sure what to do at that port due to the many mixed reviews, so this seems like a safe option. Except there will be 5 ships in port that day. Thanks in advance. Musigurl Posted June 14, 2015 #2 Share Posted June 14, 2015 It's within the secured area, before you leave the port. Less than 2 minutes walk from the ship! Had some great drinks and food there. Really nice pool too. Spend the afternoon there. They do a few contests (for free drink prizes) too.
Rare theminnow Posted June 15, 2015 #3 Share Posted June 15, 2015 We were in Falmouth just a couple months ago and had lunch at Margaritaville, and just walked around the port for the rest of the stay. As Musigurl said it is just a couple minutes from the ship. We had some friends that went with us on the cruise, and they did the RCI excursion to Red Stripe Beach. Apparently only cruisers can access the beach, and you are bussed there and back. They had a pretty good time, and that could be another option for you as well. You may want to recheck the number of ships in port at Falmouth. Five seems kinda high. There are other ports in Jamacia that ships can dock. Could it be five ships for all of Jamaica? Enjoy your cruise.
Kelliinwanderlust Posted June 15, 2015 #4 Share Posted June 15, 2015 Only ships at Falmouth have access to the Margaritaville there. Also Ocho Rios the other port is 1.5 hours away so I don't think they would be heading there anyways. We stopped at the Margaritaville and had some nachos. They were good and it wasn't that busy in late afternoon.
Rock_ON!! Posted June 17, 2015 Author #5 Share Posted June 17, 2015 Sorry, my error. Falmouth only has our cruise ship in ports that day, the other two stops have 5 ships in ports including ours . It's holiday time.
