Car Rental at Leknes

We wanted to rent a car during our port time in Leknes in the Loften Islands and do a drive similar to the one that Terry from Ohio did. We have hit a number of problems. First of all, we are there on a Sunday and car rentals don't open around the port until 1:30pm or not at all. I am not sure if there are other choices. Second. Car rentals seem to range between $300-$500 for one day. Is that correct? I have never seen anything like that. Thank you.
