Transport from Klong Toey port/Bangkok guide

We're booked on the Nautica which stops at this port; I was looking for a guide who was willing to do a somewhat specific itinerary given that we've been to Bankok twice before on land-based vacations, but I'm running into problems; it seems that public transport from the port is a no go and I can't even get a handle on whether we can get a taxi AFTER walking 800 meters or so out of the port area. 800 meters doesn't worry me, but if we walk it can we count on a cab being there?

Secondly: I know you can't recommend a guide outright, but we're looking for a guide educated in history and the art of the temples for some kind of walking/public transportation tour; don't need flowers, markets (except the amunlet market), long tail boats but street food - yes; anyone know someone who knows someone? Thanks.
