question about bump cabins

With a bump cabin, you can look right and left and see the full length of the ship. If your cabin is near the bump, but not on it, you will have limited visibility when you look out in the direction of the bump.

Some people have said they felt the bump cabins were more "windy" because they protrude out.

I'm new to cruising and never heard this term before.

Does this one cabin stick out the side of the ship? Thats how it sounds in your description. Pardon my ignorance.......but could you explain a little better? And why would they build one cabin to stick out like that? Are there windows on the side so you can look up and down the side of the ship?

Yes, the bump Cabins do stick out from the side of the ship. The reason is because they need the extra space to build the grand atrium.(Center area where you can look up from the bottom floor and see about 12 floors). The bump cabins are nice, because if your in the middle of the bump cabins, or just forward of the middle, you can see the entire length of the ship. The rooms are not different from other cabins, but they just have a better view. They are also down a secluded hallway where there is less foot traffic. Hope this helps. We will be on the Jewell Nov 14th. The Serenade of the Seas was beautiful last January. P.S. We have a bump cabin on the Jewell too.
